COMMISSION IN NAVY
SUB-LIEUTENANT R. B. REEHAL Advice was received on Saturday by his wife, who resides in Ponsonby, Auckland, that her husband, Russell Bernard Reehal, has been granted the rank of temporary sub-lieutenant in the Royal Navy. Sub-Lieutenant Reehal, who is 27 years old, was one of a number of New Zealanders with yachting experience who were selected for training in the Navy about eighteen months ago leaving the country in September, 1940- He has since served on British warships in the Mediterranean and the North Sea, besides studying at naval colleges. Born in Auckland, Sub-Lieutenant Reehal was educated at the Tuakau and Cambridge schools and the Otorohanga District High School, where he matriculated and gained the higher leaving certificate. He is the only son of Mr and Mrs C. T. Reehal, of Pukekohe, his father being formerly stationmaster at Otorohanga.
