TE AWAMUTU AIRMAN ENJOYS THE FUN IMMENSELY “ If you could see me to-day,” writes Pilot-Officer F. G. (“Frankie”) Chunn to his parents, Mr and Mrs F. D. Chunn, of Te Awamutu, “ you would laugh yourselves silly. I am in charge of a camp for three days while the Camp Commandant is on leave, and 1 am boss of the whole shooting works. I have an office to myself; complete with a W.A.A.F. secretary and about a complement of 200 airmen to look after. I have to sign their leave passes, etc., inspect the guard-room, draw the daily rations, make out a daily form of orders, and a dozen other similar jobs. I never thought I’d fall for this game when I joined the bally air-works. So for a few days I am a very important personage here, and am enjoying the fun very much. I’d just love you to see me in my office dictating from my luxurious chair. . .
