From the 14,000,000 pounds of scrap metals collected in the aluminium drive held recently in the United States, approximately 10,500,000 pounds of aluminium, or enough to build 2800 fighting aeroplanes, will be salvaged, officials estimate. At the present time, the United States aeroplane output is about 1500 a month.
