CROQUET
THE OHAUPO CLUB. OPENING OF SEASON. Pleasant weather prevailed for the opening of the Ohaupo Croquet Club on Saturday, when the president, Mrs J. Graham, welcomed the visitors and members and declared the lawns open for play. The Hamilton, Te Awamutu and Ngahinepouri Clubs were represented and the afternoon was devoted to competition play. Mrs Graham, on behalf of the Club, presented to Mr Hamilton a gift of appreciation for his services to the croquet club. The competition prizewinners were: Progressive croquet, Mrs Angus and Miss Story; hurry scurry, Mesdames Carter and Edwards; *jadder, Mrs Jenkinson; clock golf, Mrs Les. Turnwald; umbrella, Mrs Bennett. A delightful afternoon tea was served, and members of the bowling club were also afternoon tea guests. Those present were Mesdames Angus and Warner (Te Awamutu), Neil, Reid and McCallum (Ngahinepouri), E. J. Edwards and Miss Story (Hamilton), local members and visitors, Mesdames J. Graham, W. Forsyth, E. Bennett, J. Jenkinson, W. Somerville, Geo. Carter, A. Turnwald, C. K. Edwards, L. Turnwald, Misses Marjorie and Heather Forsyth and Miss Jean Graham.
