MUSIC FOR BANDS
REPLACEMENT OF N.Z.E.F. LOSSES. IE AWAMUTU CONTRIBUTIONS. Recently the New Zealand Brass Bands’ Association made an appeal to bands throughout the Dominion for supplies of band music for presentation to the bands attached to th a* New Zealand Forces in the Midto replace the valuable library of music lost by the bands in both Greece and Crete. The first response came from the Te Awamutu Municipal Band, which has forwarded to the Association’s secretary, Mr J. G. Osborne, a parcel of 28 s' ts of band music. This has been handed to the National Patriotic Board, and will be dispatched overseas immediately. The Brass Bands’ Association is looking forward to receiving many similar parcels from its affiliated bands. Mr H. A. Hillmer, secretary to the local Band, has now received a letter from Mr G. A. Hayden, secretary of the National Patriotic Fund Board acknowledging receipt of the music and asking him to convev the thanks of the Board to the members of the Band for their kindness in forward ing this much-needed gift.
