DANCE AT TE MAWHAI

A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. A very successful social and dance was held in the Te Mawhai Hall last evening to farewell a popular young couple, Mr and Mrs M. C. Daniel, who are leaving the district to carry on farming at Kio Kio. The dance music was supplied by Mrs Holmes. During the evening musical items were rendered by Mrs Betts and Mrs G. Ramsay. After supper Mr T. A. Rushbrooke, in a speech, spoke of the sterling qualities of Mr and Mrs Daniel and of the great help they had been to the district at various times. He then presented them with a clock. Mr Daniel suitably replied, after which dancing was continued until midnight. The joining of hands and singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought to a close a pleasant and enjoyable evening.
