TE AWAMUTU GRASS TRACK -CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Waipa Motor Cycle Grass Track Club was held last night, when a representative gathering of interested followers and enthusiasts was present. After the balance-sheet had been adopted a vote of thanks was passed to the treasurer (Mr F. Battson) for the splendid record submitted. The credit balance of £6l 8s 4d was a decided increase upon last year’s (£2 2s 2d). The President (Mr C. M. Speedy) submitted his report which was adopted. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted as follow’s:— Patron: Mr G. Tarrant (snr.). President: Mr C. M. Speedy (reelected ). Vice-Presidents: Messrs C. Badeley, V. Venables, W. F. Woodward, P. J. Mclnally, L. Hodgson, R. Westbrook and Dr C. Blundell. Secretary: Mr A. B. Allen. Treasurer: Mr F. Battson (reelected). Auditor: Mr R. F. Armstrong. Executive Committee: Messrs R. Pearson, C. R. Blomfield, J. W. Hanna, G. Carter, L. Buckett, R. Forsman, S. Bayly, with the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer ex-officio members. GENERAL BUSINESS. A resolution that the retiring temporary secretary (Mr C. R. Blomfield) be heartily thanked for the fine work done during his short term of office was carried by acclamation. In reply to a question, the President reported that the Club would be carrying on as actively as ever, January 29 having already been fixed as the opening date for the 1942 speedway season. Two cups fur next year’s competitions had been donated. Several matters bearing on the future of the Club were then discussed. It was decided that the Club again affiliate with the N.Z.A.C.U. and that the Secretary’s action in asking . the N.Z.A.C.U. to reserve January 29 of next year for the annual speedway meeting be approved.

A special vote of thanks to the past secretary, Mr L. Miller (who is still on the sick list) for his valuable services, was carried by acclamation.
