TE AWAMUTU ASSOCIATION. SATURDAY’S HUNT. On Saturday last, in fine weather, the Te Awamutu Light Horse Association held its weekly hunt over the properties of Messrs W r . J. Melville and Bradley, of Puniu Road. At 1.15 p.m. the horses moved off from Mr Melville’s residence, taking ’the jumps confidently, which augurs well for the point-to-point steeplechase meeting next Saturday. The spectators, following behind in their cars, enjoyed a good view of the proceedings. At the conclusion of thc lun, everyone returned to Mr Melville’s house, where tea was served on the lawn, after which Mr R. Weal thanked the ladies for their hospitality and Messrs Melville and Bradley for the use of their properties, thereby helping to provide an enjoyable afternoon’s sport. The Te Awamutu Light Horse Association will next Saturday stage a point-to-point steeplechase meeting on the property of Mr Gordon Walker, on the main Te Aw’amutu-Arapupi highway, six miles from Te Awamutu; the proceeds being devoted to the Patriotic Fund. Generous donaations of trophies have already been received and the meeting, to which the general public are invited to attend, promises to be a great success.
