FRIESIAN CATTLE

i MEETING OF BREEDERS. DISTRICT SHOWS SUPPORTED.

The chief activities during the year had been directed to subsidising the prize-money at the different agricultural and pastoral shows in the district, said Mi- G. Whewell, chairman of the South Auckland branch of the New Zealand Friesian Breeders’ Association, in his report tabled at the annual meeting of the branch in Hamilton yesterday. Breeders were to be congratulated, said Mr Whewell, on the manner in wh'ich they had supported the Friesian section at the leading shows. The coming year was going to be difficult for everybody, but all breeders should make a special effort to support their section at the shows. Sympathy with the family of the late Mr J. M. Baxter was expressed in a motion moved by the chairman. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr G. Whewell; vicepresident, Mr M. C. Hodgson; secretary, Mr G. Cooper; executive committee, Messrs Whewell, Hodgson and Cooper; delegates to Combined Breeders’ Association, Messrs Whewell and Hodgson.
