INQUEST

DEATH FROM NATURAL CAUSES. The adjourned inquest concerning the death of John Daniel Howell, widower and farmer, of Pukeatua, was concluded before Mr W. Jeffery, Coroner, on Friday. Dr K. iN. Hiskens gave evidence that ha had conducted a post mortem examination which revealed that deceased suffered from heart trouble, there being an obstruction in the shape of a clot. The man appeared to be quite healthy, but had pushed his car out on to the road during the day and the over-exertion thereby may have accelerated his trouble. Sergeant Clist gave evidence that he found Howell lying with his face downwards. There were no marks of violence. The Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence. Mr I. Howell, of Paraparaumu, a brother of the , deceased, said he desired to thank Sergeant Clist .and all his officials, the Coroner, and Dr Hiskens for kindness and courtesy to him, especially the police for their actions till he arrived in the district.
