WAIPA CHAMPIONSHIPS. LAST SATURDAY’S GAMES. The Empson Cup and Finch Rosebowl competition games were played in fine weather on Saturday afternoon at Albert Park in the presence of a fair attendance of spectators. Play generally is improving as the season advances. Results: EMPSON CUP. Waratahs 5 v. Te Rahu 0. Scorers for Waratahs were Paul Brown (4), Cornelius, and R. Whitehead. This was a very good contest, with only combination lacking. Paterangi 7 v. Otorohanga 0. For Paterangi L. Spiers scored six goals and G. Finch 1. FINCH ROSEBOWL. Hairini 3 v. Pirongia 2. For the winners goals were scored by Z. Spiers, V. Collison and D. Atherton, while D. Beet scored twice for Pirongia. Boys 5 v. Paterangi 4. (Umpires for the afternoon were Messrs T. Finch, W. Fanthorpe, C. M. Reed, E. A. Spiers, C. J- Spiers, and G. R. Lawry.
