WAINGARO SHEEP FAIR Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their Waingaro Lamb and Weather Fair on Thursday, as under:—< One of the largest yardlngs of lambs and wethers seen at Waingaro, came forward, the sale for the middle cut wether lambs was dull and lifeless, only for the top lines was interest shown by (buyers. Several lines of ewe lambs were keenly sought after, Mr E. Wapp topping the market with a nice line of 160 ewe lambs at 2Os 6d. The wethers yarded came forward in really good orden and sold readily, Mr Norman Tapp selling a really good line of 730 4th, wethers at 20s 9d. A full entry of store lambs was offered and these were sold to I a full bench of buyers. A full entry of fat and store pigs also came forward, fat pigs being in very keen demand. We sold on behalf of Messrs McDonald Bros., Kiwitahi, a pen of fat Hereford cows which realised £7 Ils. RABBITSKIN SALE Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Dunedin, report:— We held our first sale for the 1940 season on Tuesday, when we submitted a fair catalogue to a representative attendance of buyers. The offering comprised' principally summers, springs and milkys, with a few parcels of outgoings. Competition was exceedingly good for all grades, and values showed an appreciation on our last quotations (sth December). Prices ruling are a payable proposition. The official range of prices is as follows: Small, 12id to 16d per lb; runners, 191 d to 26id; racks, 26Jd to 29d; summers, 216 d to 30Jd, summer broken, 26 2d to 321 d; milky, 293 d to 37d; spring bucks, 40ld to 53d; spring does, 33Jd to 36d; winter bucks, 71d to 80d; winter does, 44d to 49d; blateks, 18d to- 18Sd; fawns, 20d to 23d; hareskins, 16Sd to 19id; horsehair, 16d to 25d; outgoing bucks, 55d to 59d; outgoing does, 38 2d to 40d.
