WAINGARO SHEEP FAIR Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their Waingaro Lamb and Weather Fair on Thursday, as under:—< One of the largest yardlngs of lambs and wethers seen at Waingaro, came forward, the sale for the middle cut wether lambs was dull and lifeless, only for the top lines was interest shown by (buyers. Several lines of ewe lambs were keenly sought after, Mr E. Wapp topping the market with a nice line of 160 ewe lambs at 2Os 6d. The wethers yarded came forward in really good orden and sold readily, Mr Norman Tapp selling a really good line of 730 4th, wethers at 20s 9d. Top lines of shorn wether lambs, 13s 3d to 14s 4d; medium ditto 9s 6d to Ils 4d; small ditto, 5s 6d to 7s 9d; good shorn blatek-faced lambs 12s to 13s 9d; medium ditto 9s 6d to Ils 3d; medium woolly Romney lambs Ils 6d to 12s 3d,; good shorn Romney ewe lambs 19s 3d to 20s lOd; medium ditto, 12s 6d to 16s 6d; small ditto, 8s 6d to 10s 6d; fat wethers 22s 9d to 23s 6d; fat and forward wethers 19s 6dl to 20s 9d; store wethers 16s 6d tp 18s 3d; small, 14s 6d to 15s 9d. MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Mbrrinsville on Friday. A medium yarding of cattle, principally Jersey fat and forward cows. Medium fat cows, £4 16s to £5 12s 6d; light fat cows, £3 15s to £4 10s; other fat cows, £3 to £3 12s 6d; boner cows, £2 5s to £2 17s 6d; potter bulls, medium, £7 to £8; light potter bulls, £5 to £5 12s 6d. Sheep.—iA good entry of; lambs came forward and sold at fully up to late rates. Good -shorn Romney lambs, 13s 7d to 15s 7d; medium ditto, Ids 3d to 12s 9d; small ditto, 6s 6d to 8s 9d; woolly ditto, 12s 6d to 14s 3d; wethers to 18s. Pigs.—A medium entry selling at fully un to late rates. Heavy bacon pigs, £4 Is to £4 4s; medium, £3 8s to £3 15s; choppers, £3 to £3 7s; store pigs, Ils 6d to 15s 6d. i New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd., Hamilton, report at follows on their Morrinsville stock sale held 1 on Friday:—A large entry of cattle came forward which included some heavy prime cows. A full entry of store lambs was offered and these were sold to I a full bench of buyers. A full entry of fat and store pigs also came forward, fat pigs being in very keen demand. We sold on behalf of Messrs McDonald Bros., Kiwitahi, a pen of fat Hereford cows which realised £7 Ils. We quote:—Prime fat heavy cows, £6 10s to £7 Ils; medium fat cows, £5 5s to £6 ss; heavy boner eows, £4 to £5 7s 6d; medium boner cows sold from £3 5s to £3 17s 6d; others from £3 to £3 2s 6d. Store Lambs.—Medium quality ewe lambs, 19s to 21s; smaller sorts, 14s to 16s 6d; good store wether lambs, Ils to- 13s 6d; medium sorts, 8s 6d to 10s 6d; smaller sorts, 5s 6d to 7s. Pigs.—Prime heavy-weight baeoners, £4 to £4 4s; medium weights £3 12s to £3 18s; buttermilk pigs, £2 15s to £3 3s; heavy porkers, £2 7s to £2 14s; medium porkers, £1 17s to £2 ss; large store pigs, 24s to 31s; medium store pigs, 17s to 235; others, 10s to 15s 6d. RABBITSKIN SALE Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Dunedin, report:— We held our first sale for the 1940 season on Tuesday, when we submitted a fair catalogue to a representative attendance of buyers. The offering comprised' principally summers, springs and milkys, with a few parcels of outgoings. Competition was exceedingly good for all grades, and values showed an appreciation on our last quotations (sth December). Prices ruling are a payable proposition. The official range of prices is as follows: Small, 12id to 16d per lb; runners, 191 d to 26id; racks, 26Jd to 29d; summers, 216 d to 30Jd, summer broken, 26 2d to 321 d; milky, 293 d to 37d; spring bucks, 40ld to 53d; spring does, 33Jd to 36d; winter bucks, 71d to 80d; winter does, 44d to 49d; blateks, 18d to- 18Sd; fawns, 20d to 23d; hareskins, 16Sd to 19id; horsehair, 16d to 25d; outgoing bucks, 55d to 59d; outgoing does, 38 2d to 40d.
