The unsatisfactory position of the men who left the No. 13 Scheme to take up seasonal farm work waJrdiscussed at last meeting of the Featherston Borough Council, which was held at Martinborough. The chairman, Mr A. B. Martin, pointed out that if a man left the scheme to take up seasonal farm work, he was required to stand down for three weeks, while the man who refused to take up any seasonal work offering remained in a steady job. It was decided that the attention of the Labour Department should be drawn to the anomaly.
