More troops for the second echelon of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force will encamp next Friday. A large number has been selected from the No. 4 (Hamilton) area for the 21st (Rifle) Battalion, to be trained at Papakura, while a small draft will go to the Hopu Hopu Camp to join the anti-tank company. The men will parade at the Drill Hall, Hamilton, at noon, and will be farewelled by the Mayor of Hamilton, Mr H. D. Caro, on behalf of the citizens of the town and district. They will march from the Drill Hall to the railway station, headed by the Waikato Regimental and Hamilton Municipal Band.
