RANGIRIRI PRICES. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., reports a good yarding of fat and boner cows and a large entry of station bred cattle at Rang!riri sale last Wednesday. There was also a few pens of r.w.b. yearling Jersey heifers and springing and calved heifers. Buyers were present from the Auckland, Rotorua and Waikato districts. Fat and boner' cows sold well at late rates. Young empty cows and heifers, cows with calves at foot and two year and yearling steers were in good demand, but 3 year steers were harder to quit . HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co. Ltd. report:— Sheep: At Frankton sale on Tuesday an average yarding of fat sheep included many pens of prime heavy wethers. There was a shortage of ewe mutton. The market was firmer in most cases, values being at least Is 6d better than last week. Bidding was also keen for two-tooth ewe and wether mutton, while fat lambs sold readily at late rates. Prime heavy wethers 25s 6d, heavy wethers 23s 9d to 255, lighter 20s 6d to 22s 6d, heavy prime 2-tooth wethers to 24s 6d, others 22s 6d, heavy prime ewes 16s 6d to 19s, fat ewes 13s 6d to 15s 6d, fat lambs 22s 6d to 25s 6d, lighter 19s 6d to 21s 6d. Cattle: A good yarding of fat cattle, values for all classes remaining very firm. A pen of medium prime bullocks from Mr T. M. Hall, Ohaupo Road., Hamilton, made £ll 7s Cd to £ll 17s; a truck of light fat steers from Thames Valley Ltd., Tatuanui, realised £9 16s to £ll. A full yarding of boner cattle with values again remaining very firm, while a good yarding of store cattle met steady competition, a good sale resulting. Messrs Newton King Ltd. report:— At our Frankton sale on Tuesday a short yarding of fat cattle and fat sheep came forward together with a large entry of store cattle. Prices showed an improvement on recent rates. In the fat sheep section a small entry of fat ewes and wethers met with keen competition, prices showing a definite improvement. Best fat wethers 22s to 245, others 21s tc 22s 9d, best fat ewes 16s to 16s 9d, others 13s 9d to 14s 6d. POULTRY SALE Messrs Thompson’s Auction Mart report a good entry of poultry at their last Thursday sale, which met with a good demand. Black Orpington hens brought 3s to 3s 9d each. Minorca hens 2s Id to 4s each, White Leghorn liens 2s 4d to 4s each, ducks 2s 9d to 5s each, roosters 3s to 5s 9d each, Turkey gobbler 12s fid, ban lams Is each.
