GARDEN PARTY

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE. The monthly meeting of the Te Awamutu branch of the Catholic Women’s League took the form of a garden party at the Convent School yesterday afternoon. In spite of inclement weather, which necessitated everything being held indoors, brisk business was done at all the stalls. During the afternoon the children entertained visitors with musical and elocutionary items, which were thoroughly enjoyed The various competitions were keenly contested, the results being as follows: Doll’s house, Maire Moriarty; handkerchief sachet, Mrs Delaney; picture, Mrs Carter; nightdress P.
