“In a quiet way Dr Hockin did a tremendous amount for returned men and his death is a severe loss to our association,” said Mr D. I. Gate, president of the Waikato Returned Soldiers’ Association, at the halfyearly meeting held in Hamilton, in referring to the death of the late superintendent of the Waikato Hospital* Dr M. M. Hockir,. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect.
The Wanganui Justices’ Association has framed a remit for the order paper at the centennial conference of the New Zealand Federation of Justices that, in view of the existing conditions, the Minister of Justice be asked to expedite the appointment of women police.
