LAWN TENNIS
DAIRY FACTORY CLUB. The annual meeting of the Dairy Factory Tennis Club was held in the office at the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co.'s factory, Te Awamutu, on Wednesday evening, Mr- A. H. Roberts presiding over a fair attendance of members. The chairman outlined the previous season’s activities, showing that members had thoroughly enjoyed the matches. In conclusion he wished the club every success in the coming season. In the course of his remarks Mr Roberts mentioned the splendid work done by the treasurer, Mr H. E. Roberts, who sails for Australia at the end of this month to take up an important appointment in Victoria. On behalf of the club he wished the departing official every success in his new sphere. The election of officers for the new term resulted as under: Patron, Mr j. T. Young, Frontier Road; president, Mr A. H. Roberts; secretary, Mr E. Douglas; committee, Mesdames A. Richards and A. P. Harvey, Misses McLean and J. Webber, Messrs J. Fleming, H. Giles, H. Ward, A. Richards and A. P. Harvey. The retiring treasurer, in his report, mentioned the sopnd financial position of the club, and hoped it would always continue to be in that happy condition. The opening day was fixed for Saturday, September 30th.
