Member of a well-known Tuhikaramea family, Mr Walter Reid, for many years chairman of the Whakatane County Council, died on Saturday last at the age of 72 years. Mr Reid had lived in the Opouriao district for over half-a-century, and was greatly respected by all. He is survived by two sons and two daughters.
