LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

KIHIKIHI BRANCH. The Kihikihi League of Mothers Birthday Party taking the form of a social, took place recently. Following the National Anthem, Mrs McGhie welcomed the visitors who came from Hamilton, Tokanui, Korakonui. and Kihikihi. Master Garth Culls n opened with a recitation and on recall gave | “How Father Made the Jam.” Little I Valerie Richards danced the Irish Jig. ■Next a competition for the men was won by Mr lan Donaldson. Games for the children followed by songs by Mr Malone. Eileen Picken danced ano Miss Doris Pattison recited. Mrs Stewart (Te Awamutu) sang and Mrs Hopping (Korakonui) recited “The Rehearsal” and on recall “Going to Blackpool.” Mr Whiter's songs completed the programme. Supper was followed by cutting the birthday cake which with its four candles was much admired. Mrs Donaldson lit the candles. Mrs Street (Hamilton) and Mrs Illing (Tokanui) blew them out, Mrs McGhie cutting it. “Auld Lang Syne” finished the evening and all voted Fathers’ Night a great success.
