Ward (secretary), Braine, Mclntyre, Goldsbro’, Mackay, Amos and Oldbury. An apology was received from Mr H. Robertson. The secretary reported that negotiations for the purchase of the property under offer to the club were well forward, as far in fact as it was permissible for the club to proceed as an incorporated one. Discussion followed re the procedure towards securing incorporated status. Rules were drawn up and adopted on the motion of Mr Goldsbro’, seconded by Mr Braine, and the secretary was requested to arrange for procuring the club’s seal and take steps necessary to have the club recognised as an incorporated one. Gold and black are to be the recognised colours of the club. An account •is to be opened with the Kawhia branch of the Bank of New Zealand, any two members of the committee, along with the treasurer, being empowered to operate the account and the treasurer to endorse cheques paid to the club’s credit. Mr D. Mackay consented to act as treasurer and assist the secretary. Mr Amos suggested the planting of marram grass to check sand encroachment at certain points on the property, and a greens and match committee was elected, on the motion of Mr Goldsbro’, seconded by Mr Mackay. The question of improving access

to the links was considered, the chairman of the Town Board, Mr J. N. Culley, intimating that in pursuance of the Board’s roading policy the road in which the club was immediately concerned was included, among others to be improved, provided the Golf Club was prepared to contribute towards certain expenses of an overhead nature. lie thought that in the course of the Board’s operations and provided the overhead expenses were met, also with the understanding that material necessary for the Board's work can be obtained from the club’s property, some improvement to the road access could be made. Mr Morris thanked Mr Culley, and it was decided to defer further consideration pending the tabling of a report upon the nature and extent of the proposed work. Votes of thanks to the chair and for the use of the Settler office concluded the meeting.
