Public Notices. TE AWAMUTU BOROUGH COUNCIL. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE RATES, 1939-1940. IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Te Awamutu Borough Council, in pursuance of its powers under The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, ■ The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and amendments, and Sections 51 to 59 of The Rating Act, 1925, and amendments, The Reserves and Other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies’ Empowering Act, The Public Health Act, 1920, Section 33, and all other Acts and powers thereunto enabling, intends, at a regular .meeting to be held at 7.30 p.m. on THURSDAY, the Bth day of June, 1939, to make, levy, and collect for the period commencing the first day of April, 1939, and ending the 31st day of March, 1940, a Consolidated Rate of Is 2id in the £ upon the ratable value of all ratable property on the basis of the unimproved value appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time being in force for the Borough, of Te Awamutu in lieu of the following rates:— A A General Rate of 4 11-16 d in the £. A Separate Rate of 1 5-16 d in the £', the Waikato Hospital Board levy. A Separate Rate of id in the £, Borough Streets Lighting. A Special Rate of Sid in the £• No. 1 Conversion Loan. A Special Rate of 25d in the £, No. 2 Conversion Loan. A Special Rate of lid in the £, Te Awamutu Borough Water Supply Loan, 1938. B A Separate Water Supply Rate of Id in the £, with a Minimum Charge of not less than 10s. C A Uniform Rubbish Collection Charge of 12s 6d for each dwell ing house situated within the Borough of Te Awamutu for the removal of refuse; weekly service; the quantity in the rubbish container- not to exceed 2 cubic feet, and any quantity in excess of the 2 cubic feet to be charged Id per excess cubic foot: The whole of the above-mentioned rates and charges to become due and payable in one sum on the Ist day of August, 1939, to the collector (Dudley Bockett) at the office of the Te Awamutu Borough Council, Town Hall, Te Awamutu, The estimates upon which the above-mentioned rates are based having been approved by the Council are, together with the Valuation Roll and Rate Book, open lor inspection without fee at the Council Chambers, Town Hall, Te Awamutu, during office hours. The Council has, by resolution in terms of Section 64 of The Rating Act, 1925, decided to allow to every ratepayer a rebate of 5 per cent of so much of the amount of the current year’s rates (excluding watei- rates and charges and rubbish collection charges) payable by him or her as is paid on or before the 31st. day of August, 1939.
