“The contractor for the repairs to the Waitangi bridge writes stating that you are one of the few experienced men available for this class of special work,” said Justice Reed at the Supreme Court, Napier, when a juror sought exemption from service. “It is necessary that these repairs should be pushed on as quickly as possible; therefore you are excused,” said his Honor.
