Miss K. M. Campbell has been appointed head teacher at the Arapuni School, and Miss F. N. Osborne assistant mistress at the Oparau School.
The announcement that Mrs Ker:- is relinquishing the control of the Alpha Hotel at Kihikihi will be received with regret by very many residents of a wide district and by the travelling public. Mrs Kerr has been associated with the Alpha Hotel for approximately 29 years, when her late father, Mr O’Brien, acquired control. Later Mrs Kerr’s husband was licensee, and on his death the widow conducted “business as usual,” with distinct credit to herself and satisfaction to all patrons. Kihikihi township loses a very worthy resident by the departure of Mrs Kerr who, we understand, intends to make her home near Auckland.
