“It is time that a Bill was brought in similar to that in the Old Country,” said the Magistrate, Mr W. H. Freeman, in the Court at Te Kuiti on Tuesday, when an applicant for variation of a maintenance order said that his three trucks had been seized. They cost about £2060, and he had paid all but £3OO of their purchase price. The applicant, Cowper, of Awakino, said that he had lost his contract with a freezing company, and because of this had been forced to give Up carrying just as he was getting clear of the debt incurred through truck purchases.
