What probably constitutes a hunting field record in New Zealand was established at the opening run of the season of the Dannevirke hounds in the southern end of the district in which they hunt over. The combined age of one rider and his mount was just short of one hundred years; and both veterans showed unmistakably that they had not lost their dash, for their combined efforts over the obstacles evoked many complimentary remarks.
