THE MANIAPOTO UNION. JUNIOR WEIGHT LIMIT. At a well-attended special general meeting of the Maniapoto Rugby Sub Union it was unanimously decided to reduce the w’eight limit for junior players from 12st 71b to list 71b.and to introduce a senior B competition. A remit from the W’aiteti Football Club advocated a reduction of the junior weight limit, and Te Kuiti Football Club agreed to this provided a senior B competition was started. Pio Pio and Aria were at first in favour of the junior weight limit remaining as at present, but agreed to a reduction when it was stated that many young footballers were not ready to join the junior ranks owing to the size of the players who would be opposed to them. It is anticipated that there will be four senior A teams, five senior B teams, five junior teams, and three third-grade teams in the Maniapoto Rugby Sub-Union this winter.
