SOCIAL FUNCTIONS

PRE-NUPTIAL HONOURS. FUNCTION AT PUAHUE In view of her approaching marriage, and as a tribute to her popularity, Miss Phyllis Taylor was accorded a social evening in the Panenakua Hall by the residents of Puahue. During a lull in the dancing Mr H. Judge, in a very happy speech, asked Miss Taylor to accept a very handsome book-case and table combined. Mr Judge referred to the many good qualities of the recipient and of the very high esteem in which her parents were held in the district. Mr Ron Stephens replied on behalf of his bride-to-be, and they were then accorded musical honours.
