SCHOOL JUBILEE

CELEBRATIONS AT TE RAHU. SATURDAY’S CEREMONIES. The diamond jubilee of the establishment of the Te Rahu School is to be celebrated on Saturday next by a reunion of old and present pupils. The school was first started sometime' in 1878—the exact date cannot be ascertained from the data available—being then under the control of a school board. Later a committee was elected to exercise jurisdiction and this method of administration has continued ever since. The celebrations will take the form of a monster afternoon party, commencing at 12 noon, with a card party and dance in the hall at night time. The oldest pupil to be present at Saturday’s ceremonies will be Mrs Keen, of Royal Oak, Auckland and other original pupils in attendance will b& Messrs Wm. Thompson, Hugh Thompson, George Floyd, Frederick Potts, Charles J. Potts and Henry Weal (chairman of the present school committee). During Saturday’s proceedings addresses appropriate to the interesting occasion will be delivered by Messrs W. I. Bowyer and G. Primrose (member of the Auckland Education Board), Henry Weal and Fred. Potts.
