LOCAL ELECTIONS

FURTHER NOMINATIONS. CONTESTS AT KIHIKIHI AND OHAUPO. Contests for the seats on the Kihikihi and Ohaupo town boards will take place, the number of nominations received exceeding those required. The nominations for the three local town boards are as follows: Otorohanga: Messrs R. Bell, A. Jackson, A. J. MlcCready, H. E. Lawrence, F. O. R. Phillips, A. C. Wilshier and W. G. Johnson. The last two are new members. Elected unopposed. Kihikihi: Messrs W. J. Bathurst, J. W. Finlay, R. B. Kinnon, F. E. Lehndorf, A. Maunder, J. A. Marquiss, W. J. McGhie, A. P. Robinson and S. E. Temple. An election is necessary, five members being required. Ohaupo: Messrs C. K. Edwards, E. J. Edwards, A. Emett, F. J. Field. W. A. Forsyth, A. S. Karl, B. CO’Connor, E. E. Sanson, L. J. Turnwald and W. H. P. West. Seven required. All elections will be held on Wednesday of next week, May 11. DRAINAGE BOARD. Messrs A. W. Hood, B. Board, M. H. Wynyard, G. R. Were, W. A. Lee, E. J. Jones and H. Gould have been elected members of the Mangapu Drainage Board for the ensuing term. WAITOMO POWER BOARD. Mr E. T. Gorton has been re-elected unopposed to represent the Otorohanga Town district on the Waitomo Poster Board.
