BASKETBALL
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. Seven delegates were present, and Mrs Oram presided, at the fortnightly meeting of the Waipa Basketball Association. It was decided that a knock-out tournament be arranged for Saturday, August 21st, and that it be a handicap knock-out, starting at 2 p.m. It was also agreed to play Kawhia on August 28th, providing conveyance is suitable. Old Girls’ Club is to be advised that the Association receives and approves their letter concerning new uniform. Mrs Oram, Mrs Nobes and 'Miss M. Rickit were deputed to choose the representative uniforms. Two teams are to be sent to Roto rua on condition that the second team finances itself. WAIPA v. TE KUITI. Last Saturday two Waipa representative teams travelled to Te Kuiti to play the two Convent Old Girls’ teams. Waipa A had a very fast and strenuous game against the Te Kuiti team, but were finally victorious, the score being 11—9. Waipa B played well against Te Kuiti B, and finally won by 28 goals to 6.
