PEACE CUP GAME. WAIPA V. MANIAPOTd. The Waipa senior representative team to meet Maniapoto at Te Kuiti next Saturday in the elimination round for the Peace Cup is as follows: B. Quin (Te Awamutu), L. Young (Rovers), W. Tombs (Te Awamutu), H. Bennett (Te Awamutu), J. Hanna (Te Awamutu), Preston (Rovers), L. Wilson (Rovers), J. Turney (Te Awamutu), J. Wynyard (Te Awamutu), W. Daniell (Te Awamutu), L. McAlpine (Te Awamutu), p. Jowsey (Rovers), H. Grant (Rovers), W. Nicoll (Rovers), and A. Thomson (Rovers). Emergencies: Backs, M. Bell (Te Awamutu), K. Tippett (Te Awamutu), and Peter Bell (Te Awamutu); forwards, M. Grace (Te Awamutu), H. Wynyard (Te Awamutu), and W. Ngahoe (Rovers). All the above-mentioned players are required to attend at the training shed to-morrow (Thursday)’ evening at 7.30 o’clock.

Taupiri continued its recent run of successes when at Ngaruawahia last Saturday Te Awamutu Rovers were beaten by 8 points to'6 in an uninteresting game. Shortly after play began Rovers were awarded a penalty, L. Young kicking a fine goal in the face of a high wind. From this point to half time the ball was seldom out of the visitors’ twenty-five. The home team secured two tries in quick succession when Pene and Wilson scored after fine back movements, Wilson converting one try with an excellent kick from the side line. Hall time came with the score in Taupirj’s favour by 8 points to 3. After the spell Young fielded a high ball and evaded O'Hearn’s tackle to score well out. The kick failed. Tbe home backs staged a fine movement and carried play to Rovers’ liner at which point L. Wilson was tackled and had to leave the field with a dislocated shoulder. This was a severe blow to the home team, as Wilson’s kicking and tackling had been responsible for saving many times. From a scrum at half way the visiting half-back intercepted, and with only Robertson to beat made for the line. He was overtaken by Pene’ ahd a sure try was lost. Taylor and Catley were conspicuous in a dribbling rush which carried play to Rovers' line, where Tickelpenny made a .good save, and the game ended with no further score. Mr C. OTOROHANGA DEFEATS MANIAPOTO. The representative Rugby contest between Otorohanga and Maniapoto, at Otcrohanga, on Saturday afternoon, was witnessed by an unusually large gallery of enthusiastic Spectators. Otorohanga wen a fast, and. exciting game by 26 points to 13. Mi Ben Carr refereed. The Footballers v. Hockey challenge contest was also a very fine gam6, 'ikcellent Rugby tactics being apparent throughout. A prominent feature of this contest was the fine play o£ Tom McCready (for footballers), a focal “Knight of the Cleaver,” who lias been a conspicuous Rugby player here for the past 20 years. It was, no doubt, owing to his valued assistance that Footballers scored the winning margin of 11 points. Mr Cameron was the referee. In the A. v. B. junior match, the former won by 12 points to 6. Mr Tom McCready was the referee. REFEREES FOR- SATURDAY. The following referees have been appointed for the Waipa Union's matches on Saturday:—Juniors: Pirongia v. Hospital (at Pirongia), Mr J.
