AS REPORTED IN WAIPA POST, JULY 19th, 1912. Three columns of space are devoted to correspondence on technical schools (J. S. Reekie), Waikato roads (M. C. Lawson) and Bible and Science (R. P. de Ridder and F. W. Clarke, 8.A.). Mr Thomson, Roto-o-rangi, has sold his farm to Mr O’Neil, of Matangi, and Mr V. Holbeche has also sold part of his property. “The recent action of the Town Board in having our crossings properly cleared calls for the heartfelt thanks of the whole community. We shall look forward to the time when metal is available for the construction of permanent crossings.” Several Crown sections in Teasdale Settlement are to be offered for sale at Hamilton, on August 16th. The tender of Messrs McKinnon and Patterson, at £1612, has been accepted for extensive additions and alterations to the Te Awamutu Hotel. Korakonui settlers have petitioned to have their locality declared a school district. “The telephone line has come this far at last, and in a few weeks we hope to be connected with Te Awamutu. This will be a great convenience to the district.”—Korakonui correspondent. It has been computed that about 500 cows will be milked in the coming season in the Wharepuhunga and Korakonui districts. The Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce, at the second annual meeting, elected Mr W. N. O. von Sturmer as president, Dr A. Henderson as vicepresident. Mr A. G. Warburton as secretary, Mr R. G. Blennerhassett, as auditor, and Messrs A. Young. J. Middlebrook, W. Y. Stewart, W. Jeffery. "M. C. Lawson, H. Fear, and Hyde, as a council.
