WAIPA PLAYERS TO TRAIN. MATCH AGAINST OTOROHANGA. In view of the forthcoming Peace Cup elimination game with Maniapoto, probably on August 14th, the Waipa Rugby Union’s selector has called up twenty-one players to be in readiness. He has called upon them to attend for training and practice at the grandstand training quarters each Thursday evening. A representative match is to be played against Otorohanga at Te Awamutu on Saturday ol next week, and this game is expected to enable the selector to find out any weak links in the team he wants for the major match next month. ALL BLACK TEAM. FINAL SELECTION AT END OF MONTH. The team to represent New Zealand against South Africa in the first Test match at Wellington on August 14 will not be chosen until about the end of this month. After the final trial match at Athletic Park on Saturday, the New Zealand selectors will travel north and will attend the match between Auckland and South Africa at Aupkland on July 24, and the match between the South Africans and the combined Waikato-King Country-Th-ames Valley fifteen at Hamilton on July 28. The All Black fifteen for the first Test will be chosen after this match. The selectors have the right to consider players outside those who took part in the trials. Th e New Zealand team will be together at Otaki for a week before the first Test match.
