INSPECTORS MAKING A CHECK. Under instructions from the Commissioner “of Transport, all motor vehicles on the road are to be stopped for tlie production of warrants O: fitness, and a check on cars in Auck land has been begun by officers of the city traffic department. After drivers have shown their certificates, round stickers, salmon red in colour, will be affixed to the lower right-hand corner of windscreens of cars. The sticker on one side has a space for the insertion of the date on which the certificate expires,- and on the other is printed tlie Government coat ot arms. The sticker will be so placed that tlie coat ot arms will show through ths glass. In the case of motor cycles it will be affixed to the glass of the headlamp. Under the motor regula tions owners were required to possess the warrants by April 1. It has not teen announced what, action will bo taken in respect of defaulters, but penalties are provided in the regula tions.
