FRANKTON STOCK SALE. Mixed competition prevailed for a good yarding of sheep at the Frankton saleyards yesterday. Prices variecT throughout the sale, fat ewes maintaining last week’s values and lambs realising advanced ruling rates. Stone sheep were dull of sale. Ox beef was penned in smaller numbers, but oow and heifer beef came forward in average quantity and late rates were maintained to fair competition. Fat Jersey cows sold at ruling prices and potter bulls met with brisk bidding. Vealers met with a better sale, but the entry of in-calf heifers was not keenly sought and some pens failed to reach the reserves. Both baconers and porkers were in demand and prices showed a sharp advance on last week’s price levels. Stores also sold better, while weaners were quit at current rates.
