WAIPA RUGBY UNION

If the fence was shifted the Rugby Union would be expected to replace it at the end of the football season.

It was agreed to acknowledge lia bility to the Hockey Association for £3 4s, being a refund, and to make payment at the end of the season.

it was agreed to reserve two dressing rooms beneath the grandstand for the use of senior players each Saturday. Medical officers reported that two players last Saturday had received attention for injuries. Acknowledgments of appointment to office were received from Messrs G. Spinley and W. G. Park, as vice-presi-dents, and each forwarded a donation to the Union funds. Korakonui Club forwarded its affiliation fee for a junior team. Rovers’ Club registered a number of players in the senior and , junior teams.

The Borough Council invited delegates to attend a public meeting on the 27th Inst in the County Council Chambers to consider what steps may be taken to fittingly celebrate Coronation Day locally.—Messrs Worthington and Haselden were appointed to attend, and it was decided that they notify the conference that the Union will co-operate with any committee set up, but that no football fixture can be arranged, as the Waikato v. Auckland rep. game is to be played at Hamilton on that date.

The application of Rovers Club for the regrading of N. Boys and D. Hinton to junior status was granted. Following a complaint from one of the affiliated clubs, discussion took place upon a suggestion that the use of aluminium sprigs in football boots should be prohibited, and finally it was decided that referees be instructed to examine all players' boots on Saturday, May Ist, and to condemn sprigs which in the opinion of referees are of a dangerous nature. The Union was presented with'a boot-last for use of players at Albert I’ark, and Mr T. Neylon was thanked for the gift. Attention was directed to the fact that at Albert Park last Saturday no line umpires’ flags were in use. Te Awamutu Club was granted permission for its senior team to play an outside match on May Ist. Transport costs were discussed, and as the Union’s finances were by no means robust, it. was agreed to ask that when clubs travel to Taupiri they arrange tlieir own transport, thus re lieving the Union ot part of its financial obligations. It was decided to provide otlicial ribbons to members of the management committee and the Junior Ad visory Board, the ribbons to be worn every Saturday from May Ist.
