ANZAC DAY AND THE COMING OF AGE OF THE R.S.A.

On Sunday next, Anzac Day will be appropriately celebrated in Te Awamutu and surrounding districts. At Te Awamutu, the order of the the ceremony at the Cenotaph, which will commence at 10.30 a.m., will be as follows: The Band to play “ The Garland of Flowers,” after which wreaths will be placed on the monument. Thereafter the firing party will fire one volley, to be followed by the sounding of “ The Last Post.” Then three more volleys will be fired : and the trumpeter will sound the “ Reveille,” the ceremony to conclude with the singing of the National Anthem and the territorial units to immediately thereafter fall in for church parade. It is also proposed to hold an appropriate ceremony at Kihikihi during the afternoon.
