V. Carmine presided at the annual meeting of the King Country Rugby Union, and the following delegates were present: Otorohanga, Messrs F. J. Irwin, A. J. McCready and D. R. Ingram; Ohura, Messrs A. Carmine; Taumarunui, Messrs N. J. , Dougherty, D. M. Rice and J. H. Lynskey. THE FINANCES. There was a loss of £l6 Is 9d on the year’s working. The assets of the Union amounted to £l5 18s 6d. The expenditure during the year amounted to £264 14s sd, the main items being: N.Z. Rugby Union £6 6s, Domain charges £lO 5s Id, advertising, printing and secretary’s honorarium £5O 3s 9d, sundries £8 19s 6d, general expen-

ses £44 14s 6d, and travelling expenses £144 5s 7d. The principal revenue was derived from donations £47 5s 6d, gate takings £122 17s lOd, nomination fees £l7 17s, gate percentages £35 8s 4d, and afliliation fees £25 4s. The apparently heavy expenditure is explained by the fact that the teams travelled as far as Hawera, Auckland and Hamilton during the playing season. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION. FORMED IN OTOROHANGA. A meetingfi was convened at Otoro hanga for the purpose of reviving the Referees’ Association, Mr F. Irwin presiding. The following officers were elected: President, Mr F. J. Irwin; secretary Mr L. Lovell; delegate to King Country Association, Mr Irwin; delegate to the Sub-Union, Mr B. Carr.
