HORTICULTURAL SHOW

AUTUMN EXHIBITION. BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS. The autumn show of the Te Awamutu Horticultural Society was opened on Wednesday and continued yesterday. and attracted a fair amount of interest. The display was a superb cne, and exhibitors achieved striking successes in overcoming the difficulties caused by the ever-changing season. Mr James Hargest, National M.P. for Awarua, was an interested visitor tc the show on Wednesday night, and in the course of a brief chat with a Te Awamutu Courier reporter, expressed himself as highly delighted with the magnificence of the blooms displayed. “They are a credit to the Industry and enthusiasm of the amateur gardeners of Te Awamutu. and certainly excel. We could achieve nothing like this down Southland this year—and I understand your summer has been pretty variable too,” he added.

The president (Mr H. C. Rainey) and the executive worked hard, and the arrangements left nothing to be desired.
