On a blackboard recovered from the ruins of the New London High School, near Overton (Texas), wihere hundreds of pupils were killed in an explosion of natural gas recently, was written, “The oil and natural gas of East Texas are a very great mineral blessing. Without them this- school would not be here .and none would be here learning lessons.”
