THE WAIPA SUB-UNION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the management committee of the Waipa Rugby Union was held on Monday evening, when there were present: Messrs R, S. Sinclair (president), in the chair, P. Stephens. H. F. Ensor, G. Lawry, H. Worthington, R. L. Adams, N. Simpson and H. T. Haselden (secretary). Mr L. G. Armstrong wrote accepting the position of pat’ron to the Union, expressing his appreciation of the honour and wishing the Union a successful season. He enclosed a cheque for £1 Is. Messrs J. T. North and H. L. Jackson wrote accepting office as vice-pre-sidents, and enclosing £1 Is and 10s 6d respectively. The donors are to be thanked tor their gifts. The Territorial Club was granted the loan of the junior rep. jerseys for next Saturday’s match, the factory from which their own had been ordered not being able to supply them in , time. The Hospital team was also granted loan of the rep. jerseys. The request of the Old Boys' Club for a re-adjustment of affiliation fees overpaid last year as a result of the withdrawal of one of its teams from the competitions was granted. The clerk to the Domain Board wrote confirming the granting of the Albert Park grounds for an approximate period of 20 weeks. —The secretary’s action in arranging to pay into the Board's bankers every Monday morning 10 per cent of the gross gate takings was approved. The chairman reported that Nos. 2and 3 grounds were now ready for use. The horse lines on the eastern side of No. 3 ground were not parallel with the side line, while the post at the northern end was only six feet from the corner flag.—Mr Worthington was appointed to confer with the A. and P. authorities regarding the removal of this fence. Mr H. P. Ensor was appointed senior selector.

Messrs R. Hinton and C. R. Blomfield, representing the Hockey Association, waited on the committee with a view to arriving at an equitable arrangement regarding gate takings at the hockey gates. The Association had no record of takings, but had paid cut £3 4s in wages.—After various percentages had been discussed with the delegates, it was resolved that the Hockey Association be offered 5 per cent of the net takings at all club fixtures. The offer cf the Te Awamutu Band to play on the grounds prior to the matches was accepted. It was decided to invite Matamatl io send a senior rep. team to Te Awamutu on June 9th. The question of obtaining a visit from an Auckland team was left to Mr ,P. Stephens to make enquiries. It was decided to write to the secretary of the Auckland Rugby Union to ascertain the possibility of an Auckland senior team visiting Te Awamutu on June 26th. The chairman reported having received a request from the Ambulance Brigade in supplying first aid requisites for injured footballers.—lt was decided to authorise the Brigade to purchase equipment to the extent of £1 10s. The matter of procuring line flags was left with the chairman. Territorial Club wrote registering its colours as blue and gold. It was decided that two dressing. rooms available under the-stand bereserved for senior teams.

OTOROHANGA DOINGS. THE UNITED CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Mangapeehi United Football Club, Mr A. Needham presided over a good attendance of members. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr H. Davey; president, Mr D. Dyett; vicepresidents, Messrs J. B. Halcombe, W. O. Irvine, F. O’Rourke, S. N. Martin, A. A. Needham, Kehu Wehi and D. McCaffery; secretary, Mr A. Keating; management committee, the president, secretary and Messrs H. Brown, J. C. Vincent, J. Martin, R. Bond, H. Davey, p. Farrow and W. Smith; delegates to Maniapoto Union, Messrs Farrow, Keating and Dyett; nominee for man agement committee of Maniapoto Union, Mr R. Farrow. Club colours and subscriptions were fixed as formerly, and the club will field senior, junior and third grade teams throughout the season. In spite of the heavy travelling ex-

penses entailed by the entry of three teams, only a trifling loss was made on last season’s operations in the general account. The insurance account, with receipts £l5 2s and payments £8 6s, showed a satisfactory increase.
