NAME ON THE CLOCK
How many letters in your name? If the number is twelve you can have one of the new clocks specially made for you—your name instead of figures inscribed in silver or gold letters on the face. Joan Crawford was the first to start the fashion, with a tiny gold clock fitted with golden hands. Other stars have followed her lead —Hedda Hopper filling in the missing letter with a dot, Sally Grey with three dots, as her name contains only nine letters. Skilfully arranged, any name under twelve letters can be adapted for clock face use, silver dots or tiny asterisks filling in the extra spaces where necessary. A novel idea for a birthday of wedding present this.
