WEDDING BELLS
CHRISTIE—LANGKILDE. An interesting wedding of wide interest was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church, Otorohanga, last Saturday afternoon by the Rev. T. H. Burton, B.A. The contracting parties were Miss Paula Langkilde, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Langkilde, of Otorohanga, and Norman McGregor Christie, elder son of Mr and Mrs Norman Christie, of Hamilton. The church had been decorated by friends of the bride with bowls of daffodils, producing a very charming effect. Mrs H. W. Atkinson presided at the organ. There was a capacity gathering at the ceremony, including the local Girl Guides, of which the bride had been captain, and the Guides formed a guard of honour as the happy couple left the church. The bride entered the church with her father. She wore a white satin frock and a Brussels lace veil, and carried a sheaf of arum lilies. Miss Tui Swainson was bridesmaid, wearing a pale green taffeta dress, with accessories in harmony, her posy being of seasonal blooms. Mr Clark (of Hamilton) was best man. The bride’s parents entertained the wedding guests at their home near Otorohanga, when the usual speeches were made and the time-honoured toasts enjoyed. Mrs Langkilde wore a grey costume with black hat and shoes, and carried a bouquet of violets; Mrs Christie, Snr., was costumed in pale blue with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of freesias and yellow polyanthi. The decorations (in yellow daffodils principally) were carried out by Mesdames S. J. Fortescue and Fairbrother and Miss Miller. Mr and Mrs Christie will make their future home at Albany (north of Auckland). The bride travelled in a grey swagger suit, blue hat, shoes, and accessories. Mr Christie is on the staff of the Postal Department.
