CROQUET CLUB

A SOCIAL AFTERNOON. % A very pleasant function was held at the residence of Mrs Downes last Wednesday afternoon, when Croquet Club members and their friends met for bridge and euchre. Afternoon tea was served by the social committee and helpers, and at the close Mrs H. C. Rainey, as one of the vice-presidents, thanked everyone for attending, and called for a vote of thanks to Mrs Downes, which was heartily responded to. Winners of the bridge play and other competitions were: Bridge, Mrs Rainey; hidden number, Mrs L. Kay; euchre, Mrs Russell; hidden number, Mrs Goodall.
