HAMILTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton saleyards on Tuesday, as under: —Fat sheep: An average yarding. Prices were inclined to be a shade lower than last week. Heavy wethers 27s to 295, medium weight wethers 25s 6d to 26s 6d, light wethers 22s to 245, fat ewes 17s to 21s. Fat lambs: A moderate yarding. Prices were firm at late rates. Heavy butchers* lambs at up to 26s 6d, freezing lambs 19s 6d to 22s 9d. Store sheep: A small yarding. Forward lambs 17s 6d, store lambs 13s 9d to 14s 9d, cull ewes 12s 9d. Fat cattle: An average yarding. Prices were unchanged. Prime heifers made £5 7s 6d to £6 7s 6d, medium weight god quality eows and heifers £4 5s to £5 2s 6d, Jersey cows £2 15s to £4 2s f;d. Store cattle: A small yarding. We sold empty dehorned Hereford and Red Polled heifers at £4 9s, store cows £3 7s 6d, heavy boner cows £2 15s to £3 6s, light ditto 38s to 48s. Dairy cattle: A large yarding. Good young cows close to profit made from £6 5s to £8 ss, July and August calvers £4 to £5 10s, backward cows £3 to £3 15s. Pigs: There was only a medium yarding of baconers and porkers, with a fair yarding of stores and weaners. All classes of fat pigs sold under spirited competition at advanced rates on last week’s quotations. Keener competition was evident on well finished pigs. Store pigs also advanced under spirited competition. We yarded no prime heavy baconers. We quote: Medium heavy baconers £3 to £3 Bs, medium do £2 lie to £2 19s, light do £2 6s to £2 10s, unfinished do £2 2s to £2 ss, heavy porkers to butterfat pigs 38s to £2 6d, medium well finished porkers 35s to 38s, prime porkers 28s to 345, small 22s to 265, large stores 24s to 275, medium stores 18s to 235, slips 14s to 17s, best weaners 8s to Ils. CAMBRIDGE STOCK SALE. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report on their Cambridge stock sale, held on Monday, as follows: Fat and store cattle: A number of pens at the commencement comprised heavy to prime quality fat cows and heifers. Medium conditioned, light and store and boner cows filled their respective sections well. The enquiry was quite strong, and a comparatively free sale took place for all classes, fully up to the best of recent quotations of other centres. Nothing remained unsold. We quote: Heavy fat cows £5 3s 6d to £5 Ils, good quality Jerseys £4 2s 6d to £5, medium conditioned do £3 •5s to £3 15s, light killable cows £2 12s 6d to £3 2s 6d, heavy store conditioned cows £2 5s to £2 12s 6d, medium 39s to £2 4s, rough boners 30s to 395. Dairy cattle: Many of a large yarding were good young Jerseys and these in particular sold very well. For mediocre cows and heifers there was likewise a firm demand and prices consequently were stable at late recordings. Few were passed and most vendors were well satisfied with results. We quote: Best young Jersey cows due June-July £6 15s to £B, good sorts early calvers £5 10s to £6 10s, medium class cows £4 10s to £5 ss, backward and inferior do to £4 ss, good types of dairy heifers due

early £4 5s to £5 15s, medium £3 10s to £4 ss, others £3 ss. Pigs: The entry was a fair sized one only and lacked porkers and baconers. Sales effected on a par with price levels of Frankton sales and all changed hands. We quote: Light porkers 25s to 335, large store pigs 15s to 17s, slips 12s to 14s, well grown weaners 8s to Us, small to 7s 6d.

CLEARING SALE AT TE AWAMUTU. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report on a dispersal sale held at Te Awamutu yards on Monday, on account of Mr W. Bird, Matangi The 150 odd dairy heifers came forward in good order and were a typey, quality lot. Their breeding, and the care in their selection by the vendor was evident, by the attractive offering they presented. Although the bench of buyers was not very large most present were keen purchasers, and as a result most satisfactory prices were secured. Practically all sold under the hammer and the range of prices 'compare very satisfactorily with other sales. We quote: Best quality choice heifers, due early £6 10s to £7 ss, medium July-August calvers £5 10s to £6 10s, later £4 10s to £5 ss, inferior to £4 ss.
