SALE OF A FARM

CLAIM BY PURCHASER. A claim for £915 damages for alleged fraudulent representation made by James Nicholson, farmer, of Pukeatua,' against Alfred Redfern, farmer, was heard before Mr Justice Fair in the Supreme Court at Hamilton yesterday. Messrs W. D. Anderson and W. C. S. Bainbridge represented plaintiff and Mr H. A. Swarbrick (Te Awamutti) appeared for defendant. The claim arose in connection with the sale of a farm by Redfern to Nicholson. Plaintiff claimed £l2l 10s damages for hay taken off the farm alter it was sold, and further alleged that the stock on the property was badly infected by mammitis. In addition to claiming for the replacement of tile eows plaintiff also claimed £6B damages for the loss of milk from the affected cows. The defence was a general denial of plaintiff’s allegations. After further evidence the case was completed, His Honor reserving judgment.
