A FURTHER UPWARD TENDENCY.

The London butter rAarket continued to improve last week to an active demand, prices for New Zealand finest salted advancing a further 5s to 108 s per cwt, compared with 83s per cwt a year ago, the market closing firm, with a further upward tendency reported. The Danish spot price has advanced 2s to 112 s. The New Zealand retail price remains unchanged“at Is per lb, and Danish at Is Id per lb. Deliveries in London of New Zealand butter last week totalled 1438 tons, against 1618 tons for the previous week, and 1597 tons a year ago. Australian deliveries were 1581 tons, compared with 1731 tons a year ago. New Zealand stored butter amounts to 4399 tons, compared with 4631 tons for the previous week and 6824 tons a year ago. Australian butter in store totals 5384 tons, against 8146 tons a year ago. The cheese market improved again last week, particularly for coloured, both white and coloured now being quoted at 59s 6d per cwt, against 43s 6d a year ago. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week totalled 17,042 crates, against 18,151 crates a year ago; and the quantity in store is 104,147 crates, against 173,811 crates a year ago. Canadian deliveries were 5406 boxes, compared with 5205 boxes a year ago, the quantities in store being 52,872 boxes, against 49,552 boxes a year ago.
