The average life of a British ship is twenty-six years; but Scandinavians make their craft last on an average thirty years. The life of- an American ship averages only eighteen years.
More than 14,000,000 medals for services in the Great War have now been issued. The aggregate length of pieces of ribbon despatched with the stars and medals is over 1800 miles.
