In onr last list of donation to Orphans wo gave the credit of a donation of 15s to Mr R. Shallne whereas it was Mr R. Ohalton who gave that amount.

At the last meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council the engineer, Mr R. J. Dillon, tendered his resignation, which he desired to become effective in three months. The Council accepted the resignation with regret.

As an indication of the troubles the Thames Valley Power Board has to contend with in their construction work, it was stated at Tuesdays meeting that a portion of equipment had not been delivered tor eighteen months after the order was dne for delivery. The engineer’s action in declining to accept delivery was confirmed.

The barqnentine, Louis Therialt, which has been under charter to the Thames Valley Power Board fbr the conveyance of hardwood poles from Australia t) Eopu, has lately unloaded a consignment of over one thousand poles. The boat will probably leave in a week’s time to bring another consignment of poles.

In building a new theatre in Auckland, New Zealand, disappearing shops for the building front are being seriously considered.
